Ingredients (4 people)

400 g of dark chocolate in tablet (we suggest 70% cocoa as this)

1 liter of whole milk

a cinnamon stick for flavoring (optional)

optional: 30 g sugar

How to make hot chocolate

In a casserole we heat the milk, if we want to add sugar we also incorporate it, as well as the cinnamon stick to flavor. Stir a little so that the sugar (if we have added it) dissolves. Chop the chocolate, and when the milk is hot, but not boiling, add it to the casserole. With a few rods we mix so that the chocolate dissolves and integrates.

When it starts to boil, remove from the heat, and when it stops bubbling we put it back on the fire until it begins to boil. This double boil serves to make the chocolate denser. Then we remove from the heat and we can serve.

Trick to make thick chocolate

If you like the densest chocolate, we can remove a little milk from the total and dissolve in it 15 g of cornstarch. Once the chocolate has melted, before it begins to boil, add the milk with the dissolved cornstarch and stir well.

We prefer chocolate to the French cup, that is, with milk, because it is creamer and gains in flavor. But if you prefer you can prepare it the Spanish way, that is, with water instead of milk.

Ingredients (4 people): 1 liter of water; 50 g of sugar; 50 g of pure cocoa powder (you can buy it here); 300 g of dark chocolate in tablet.

Boil the water with the sugar, stirring from time to time until it boils. Add the cocoa powder and stir with a few rods until it integrates well. We put the chopped chocolate in a bowl, and we add the water little by little, always stirring so that the chocolate dissolves. Once we have everything well integrated, we put it back in the casserole and let it boil, while stirring. We turn off and serve.
