What is Tiramisu?

Tiramisu is a dessert of Italian origin, one of the most consumed and famous in the world. It is a cold spoon dessert that has a multitude of variants.

Today we are going to prepare a classic Tiramisu whipped , with egg whites, Manchego version, in which we will replace the Amaretto with Liqueur de Orujo Café Artesano . There are other variants with cream instead of the whites, which makes it last longer and more consistent, but loses its creaminess and smoothness.

Tiramisu ingredients (for 6 people):

    2 egg whites

    4 egg yolks

    150 g. icing sugar

    400 g. mascarpone cheese

    200 g. of sponge cakes

    75 ml. Coffee Pomace Liqueur

    175 ml. of strong coffee (2 long coffees, capsule) and cooled.

    200 g. grated chocolate or cocoa powder.

Preparation time: 50 min, plus refrigeration.

 How to make the Tiramisu? Elaboration: 

    Since it has to cool down, we will start by making the coffees and let it rest together with the Coffee Liquor, which we will mix later.

    Now, in a bowl, beat the yolks with half the sugar . It has to be well mixed, until it acquires a foamy consistency and we reserve.

    We continue to mount the clearings to the point of snow . Well mounted until “consistent peaks” come out.

    To the reserved yolks, add the mascarpone cheese little by little and mix in an enveloping way.

    When the mixture is homogeneous, we add the whipped whites to finish the cream .

    Once we have the cream prepared, we will begin with the assembly of the Tiramisu . We prepare the mold where we are going to assemble it, the soletillas and the coffee and liquor mixture.

We dip the soletillas in the coffee mixture , more or less quickly and we take them to the mold. We will repeat the process until the first layer is covered.

    Next, we cover with a layer of cream and sprinkle , until covered with chocolate .

    We repeat this process , or until ingredients are finished, cover with film and refrigerate . At least 3 hours.

    Our Tiramisu is ready! And what better way than to enjoy it accompanied by a very cold shot of Licor de Orujo Café ( over 18 years old ).
